KKuK

KKuK is an in(ter)disciplinary research institute, whose activity is driven by the experimentation of integrative forms of scientific and artistic research, as well as by long-term-applied, relevant focuses of humanities and cultural studies.

The use of permeable models of integrative research primarily involves as much the investigation of the epistemological leeway between the disciplines, as the development of hybrid forms of mediation of scientific-artistic contents among more general and public contexts. Plus, the extent and complexity of the research-horizon - which is inaugurated by the respective thematic focuses – clearly requires such an in(ter)disciplinary orientation.

The research program of the institute for the year 2011 focuses on two interweaved core themes:

• Language and violence – with special attention to mediatic forms of symbolic violence
• Interdisciplinarity between art and science and the ongoing debate around Artistic Research.
